Joe Frieberg: Thank you Lance.
Lance Hood: So Joe, can you share a little bit about yourself?
Joe Frieberg: I've been in the advertising industry for about 30 years. Had An ad agency in San Francisco, pretty healthy ad agency and retired, moved to Arizona, got a little bit antsy about playing a lot of golf and got involved with these RX2Live folks who was a friend of mine that owns the company and have just really thoroughly enjoyed what I'm doing with these guys.
Lance Hood: Well, can you share a little bit about kind of what RX2Live does and why people should consider the health, wellness or medicine industry?
Joe Frieberg: Absolutely. RX2Live is a fairly new franchise brand, but the principle owners of the business have been in the franchise world for the last 27 years and the one gentleman that is one of the owners has actually written 13 books on the health and wellness industry and what our brand does is we literally go talk to doctors, primary physicians generally and help them grow their business by sometimes double and triple their sales without adding any office staff, any incremental office staff. We are a support arm of their business and our franchisees are having great success talking to doctors. We have about 14 products that we bring to the doctors and share with them. One of them in chronic care management in office screening, DNA testing, weight loss. We've had over 100,000 people on our weight loss program. You lose about a pound a day and it's a great program. We've got a thermal imaging program, vitamin supplements, and it's a great business for a Franchisee that really does want to get in front of a doctor.
Lance Hood: So Joe, can you give us some examples to do with the product itself?
Joe Frieberg: Absolutely. Let's take for example, chronic care management. In 2015 medicare came up with a cpt code 99490, that said, listen docs, if you will talk to your Medicare patients for 20 minutes a day on the phone, not physically in your office, but via the phone. We'll pay you $43 every single month that you do this. Now, this sounded like a great program, but unfortunately the average doctor has between a thousand to 3000 Medicare patients and their office staff can't physically call one to 3000 people every single month document and send it to Medicare so medicare can reimburse them. So what we did is we developed the telemarketing center that has nurse practitioners and doctors assistants.
We developed a software program that Medicare approved. We make the calls on behalf of the doctor to their Medicare patients and we document the information that we talk about during that 20 minute call every single month. We provide that to the doctor. The doctor then submits that to Medicare with their number and they're reimbursed within 10 days, $43 for every medicare patient that we talk to and we now have over a thousand doctors that are on this program right now and obviously there's hundreds and hundreds of thousands of potential doctors and patients that we could be talking to. And so we got to get some of these franchises a sold out there so we can get in front of more doctors and teach them about this program.
So as far as the reimbursement of that $43 that can go to the doctor's office, we strike a deal with the doctor that he gets $20 of that. We get 23 that pays for the telemarketing center and the software. But that also pays the Franchisee. The franchisee makes $2 for every single medicare patient that we talk to on a monthly basis. So for example, for a doctor, if there's a thousand Medicare patients that we talked to that's $20,000 to their bottom line, $2,000 to the Franchisee, and if there's a master franchisee involved, they get an additional fifty cents on every call that's made. So on a thousand patients, for one doctor that's $500 every single month, you replicate that times, numbers of Franchisees, you replicate that times, numbers of doctors that you talked to and the numbers are astronomical. The kinds of money that can be made just on this one service.
Lance Hood: So for a doctor, this is something that could add $20,000 to their bottom line and they really don't have to do much because the phone team of nurse practitioners that's going to be calling on their behalf from RX2Live is doing all the work. The doctors just receiving their percentage of that $43 fee every month so they can increase their bottom line without adding additional work.
Joe Frieberg: Correct. One hundred percent of the work is done by RX2Live. So what we do is we get the list from the doctor of their Medicare patients. We have a conference call with the doctor or the head of the doctor's staff, and we find out what are the hot buttons of that doctor's office, how do they want us to communicate with their medicare patients. We then make those calls on that doctor's behalf. We put it into a format, into the software that goes to that doctor's office. They then, all they do is submit it to Medicare. They're reimbursed within 10 days, within 48 hours after they're reimbursed, they pay us. No out of pocket cost to the doctor. And that's one of the programs.
We've got another program that's called in-office screening that we're the exclusive right to this program in the country. There's 19 suveys that insurance companies want to have done and they're doing them through us, through our doctors' offices. And what happens is these doctors get a PDA with the survey on the screen and when you go into a doctor's office and you're waiting in the waiting room to see the doctor, the nurse will give, or the the front desk will give you this pda and say, would you mind filling out a questionnaire? Which everyone will say, "fine." They fill out the questionnaire. They take it back up to the front desk. They then push submit and the doctor gets reimbursed $35. Every single patient that fills out a form, there's 19 forms, so one form every single month is filled out. They get $35 reimbursement for this program.
Lance Hood: That could really add up over the course of a day. I mean
Joe Frieberg: Absolutely. The average doctor sees between 35 to 50 patients a day. That's a lot of money over the course of the month. And that's two of the 14 programs. So we're an adjunct to the doctor's office, so we need franchisees to get out there, talk to the doctors, show them the program that we have, solidify relationships with these doctors and get our programs established with these doctors offices. Now another audience for us are Chiropractors. Chiropractors actually want this program as well. We went to the largest chiropractor show in the country called the Parker Show in Las Vegas in February, and we got over a thousand doctors across the country that wanted our programs. Now some of them they cannot utilize because they don't have a doctor's number, but thermal imaging supplements, weight loss, DNA testing. They can sell those programs and they want 'em.
Lance Hood: And you know, another thing is, you talk about the DNA testing people... explain that, because it's for medical reasons and it's pretty incredible from what you told me. Can you explain that?
Joe Frieberg: Yeah. What, what the doctor does is he, he swabs the inside of a patient's mouth, puts it in a tube, seals it, and sends it to LSU University. It goes through 33 hours of testing. Very unlike the tests you see on TV that will tell you about your ancestry, that's you know, one hour test and about 50 percent accurate. This test is 99 point nine percent accurate and what it tells you is the exercise program that you should be on, whether it's high cardio, low cardio, that is just for your DNA, it tells you the kind of foods you should eat and so what kind of dietary supplements should you also be taking, so how you should be eating to maintain weight or to lose weight and the supplements that you should be taking, which is one of the other products that we have as our supplement products. The doctor doesn't need to buy these supplements and have them at their shop. They simply tell you to call a number. We'll overnight the supplements. The doctor gets paid. The Franchisee gets paid. The Master Franchisee gets paid. Everyone gets paid on the supplements and doing the DNA testing.
Lance Hood: And on that... The customer, they're actually getting information on workout and health and supplements and everything based upon their actual DNA. I think that's so amazing because it's so precise. It's not just advice
Joe Frieberg: It only has to be done one time in their lifetime. Your DNA does not change. Another interesting thing that that we should note about the DNA program. DNA tests also can tell you if you have a propensity to have brain injuries. So, the NFL players association loves this program and product because they can let them know if their players have the likelihood of having brain trauma during the course of their lifetime in the NFL or if they are having some brain issues after they have retired. So, it's been a really, really good program and we're getting some national notoriety with the NFL. And as a side note, Kevin Harrington and the shark tank, I don't know if your people are aware of this, but shark tank really thinks we are in a space that is unlike anything that's been franchised in the country and they want to be involved with us. And so we have signed a deal with Kevin Harrington and Shark Tank.
And just to let you know, of the franchises that are available out there around the country, and there are lots of them, the industries that you want to focus on right now are the medical, health and wellness. Actually number two is marijuana and number three is a technology and number four is construction. And we're in obviously number one and number three. And the health and wellness in the medical industry is a trillion dollar business. It's not going away. We're very young and new in this space that we will be in this space forever. And we think it's a tremendous opportunity for anyone getting involved.
